Civil Engineering.
Our project managers and engineers provide our clients with experience and a diverse set of skills from their work in the areas of civil engineering. Services offered include Site Development and Planning, Public Water Supply and Distribution, Stormwater Management, Wastewater Collection and Treatment, Roads and Bridges, and Construction Services.
SITE DEVELOPMENT
Having over 60 years of regulatory expertise in site development, GER is highly qualified to provide code review of subdivision and site development plans with a thorough understanding and proper interpretation of a wide variety of regulations. Site development experience includes subdivision developments and commercial facilities.

WASTEWATER COLLECTION & TREATMENT
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ (MDNR) requires consideration of no-discharge treatment when permitting new, expanded or upgrades systems. Our wastewater experience is highlighted by permitting onsite wastewater treatment systems (OWTS), upgrades to wastewater collection systems, biosolids evaluation and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system for municipal treatment facilities, and design and permitting of small commercial and single-family no-discharge treatment systems.
OWTS Services
- Design, layout and permitting of OWTS systems via Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS) 19 CSR 20-6.030 on-site sewage systems and county regulatory authorities
- Conventional, Land Application, Drip Irrigation, Low Pressure Pipe, and Lagoon OWTS Design
- Decentralized and cluster OWTS
- Approval for Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) disposal of wastewater in residential housing developments via 10 CSR 20-6.030

CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
A well-planned project helps the design and construction team develop practical and efficient services. GER’s experience provides relevant guidance and construction management. GER’s experience includes construction documents; cost analyses for budget development; construction contract administration; construction bidding, plans and specifications; bid evaluation and qualification of contractors; surveying; construction quality assurance and oversight representation; ordinance and code consultation; and site and plan reviews.
Site Development:
Principal Engineer for new shooting range site development and design on 11-acre site. Services included: preliminary design; meetings to refine MSHP needs; preliminary site layouts to maximize site use while minimizing total construction cost; construction and budget review. GER coordinated Surveying, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing sub-consultants, conducted a pre-design geotechnical engineering investigation to support civil and structural design, and designed the site layout, grading, utilities, and stormwater management systems.
Wastewater:
Performed preliminary evaluation of potential wastewater systems, followed by engineering design for an onsite, no-discharge wastewater treatment system for Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. GER completed permit applications and construction plans for the system according to MDNR criteria because the maximum daily flow could potentially exceed 3,000 gallons per day at their semiannual special events. Designed an Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) for a single-family residence in Callaway County with a design flow of 360 gallons per day. The site soil evaluation showed the soils would require an engineered alternative treatment system. GER designed a no-discharge treatment system utilizing subsurface drip irrigation, prepared permits for the Callaway County Health Department, and completed the construction plans for the homeowner’s contractor.
Bridge Design:
Retained by client to provide design services and construction oversight for the replacement of a failed haulroad crossing with a CON/SPAN precast concrete bridge capable of supporting loads of up to 100 tons in Randolph County, Missouri. Bridge serves as main artery for the haulage of coal combustion residue to a permitted waste disposal facility.
