Mikel C. Carlson, R.G. of GREDELL Engineering Resources, Inc., Jefferson City, MO, was selected by the Missouri Department of Conservation to serve in the capacity of Awards Committee Chairman for the upcoming annual Association of Conservation Engineers meeting in Springfield, Missouri on October 11-13, 2021. In that capacity, Mr. Carlson will be involved in the review and judging of submittals for the 28th Annual Carl V. Anderson Engineering Project Awards to be presented at this meeting.
Awarded annually, the Carl V. Anderson Conservation Project Awards recognize ACE members for outstanding projects in conservation engineering. The purpose of the awarded competition is to give recognition to those members, consultants and/or their departments whose work, as judged by their peers and associates, best exhibits the goals and objectives of the Association of Conservation Engineers.
As Principal Geologist, Mr. Carlson has 30 years of regulatory and consulting experience in the areas of solid waste, hazardous waste, surface mining and stormwater control. Mr. Carlson is responsible for designing and implementing geologic investigations including detailed site investigations, hydrogeologic studies, mine development, contaminant plume delineations, and soil (borrow) evaluations. He is likewise responsible for the design and installation of groundwater and gas monitoring systems.
