Celebrate Engineers Week

The 2025 Engineers Week theme, “Design Your Future”,” is both a call to action and a celebration of the limitless possibilities in engineering.

National Engineers Week is February 16 – 22, 2025! Engineers Week is one of the largest STEM events of the year, to celebrate accomplishments of engineers and to introduce students to engineering and technology. In 1951, the National Society of Professional Engineers founded Engineers Week to ensure a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing the understanding and interest in engineering and technology careers.

As engineers, it is our promise to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. GER proudly keeps this promise through our work and involvement in the community.

Welcome Megan Sly!

Megan Sly recently joined the staff of GREDELL Engineering Resources, Inc. (GER) as a Geological Engineer in our Jefferson City office. Megan graduated from Missouri University of Science & Technology with a B.S. in Environmental Science and an M.S. in Geological Engineering. Ms. Sly has professional experience in geophysics and surface and subsurface hydrology. She works well in a group and provides guidance to team members.

Ms. Sly’s education and experience complement and enhance GER’s current staff and capabilities with skills in data management and quality assurance, and brings new skills and insights to our team.

GER congratulates Missouri Science & Technology for being awarded $28.5 million in funding from the US Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration for its efforts focused on critical minerals processing. See us at the MLPA Conference

Mikel Carlson, R.G., and Jacob Fitzpatrick, E.I., are attending the 79^th annual convention of the Missouri Limestone Producers Association (MLPA) now changed to the INFRA Conference. This conference is being held at Margaritaville at Osage Beach, MO and continues through December 6, 2024. There is record breaking attendance once again and we met with several quarry operators, vendors, and regulators. GER is an associate member of MLPA and provides regulatory compliance and land reclamation assistance for mining operations.

While at the convention, Mikel Carlson participated in the Industrial Minerals Advisory Council Meeting as a council advisor member. The Missouri Industrial Minerals Advisory Council is an advisory council to the state geologist. The council’s main duty is to advise the department on collecting, processing, managing, and distributing geologic and hydrologic information to assist the industrial mineral industry.

During the convention, Jacob Fitzpatrick attended the Missouri Minerals Education Foundation (MMEF) as a board member. The MMEF works to educate the public about mining and provide lesson plan materials to school educators.

ACEC/MO 3rd Annual Sporting Clays Tournament

On Thursday, November 7, 2024, GREDELL Engineering Resources, Inc. participated in the ACEC/MO’s 3rd Annual Sporting Clays Tournament held at Prairie Groves Shotgun Sports in Columbia, MO. The tournament consisted of an 8-station course that allowed participants a chance to hit a maximum of 50 targets. It was a great fall day event for our staff.

Our participants were Tom Gredell, Wayne Elliott, Cole Mengwasser, Bryan Morrell, and Jacob Wolken. Bryan Morrell and Wayne Elliott placed 2^nd and 3^rd respectively in the Class B. Thanks to ACEC-MO for hosting this event.
