The Jefferson City School District new Early Childhood Center groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for May 14, 2024. GER provided pre-design geotechnical engineering to support the civil and structural design of the site and has provided consultation on the potential impact of bedrock characteristics on mechanically stabilized earth wall construction.
Christine Houts recently joined the staff of GREDELL Engineering Resources, Inc. (GER) as an Environmental Geologist. Christine graduated from Michigan Technology University with a B.S. in Geology and Scientific and Technical Writing. Ms. Houts has over ten years of diverse experience in regulatory compliance; geological surveying and mapping; GPS; field assessments; data management; and reporting. She has worked in the western United States as a Geologist and Surveyor focusing on the mining industry.
Ms. Houts’ education and experience will enhance GER’s current staff and capabilities with skills in environmental compliance, geological mapping, data management, mining, environmental cleanup actions and safety, as she brings new insights to our team.
Ms. Houts is based in GER’s Springfield office but will assist with projects throughout the state.
National Engineers Week is February 18 – 24, 2024! In 1951, the National Society of Professional Engineers founded Engineers Week to ensure a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing the understanding and interest in engineering and technology careers.
During Engineers Week, many organizations and institutions focus on providing STEM activities to K-12 students to introduce them to engineering and technology.
GER employees have participated in the Jefferson City Chapter STEM activity, the MSPE Jefferson City Chapter meeting, and the Discover Engineering Day at Missouri State University. Our engineers are encouraged to become members of engineering professional organizations and participate in regular activities to promote the engineering field.

Wayne Elliott, E.I., is top notch!! Wayne represents GREDELL Engineering Resources, Inc. (GER) as the Treasurer of the Jefferson City Chapter of Missouri Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE). During a recent presentation to the chapter by Thorpe Gordon STEM Academy staff, chapter members participated in an exercise demonstrating constructive toys used in the new STEM curriculum. The new academy aims to provide scientific and technical education to elementary school students in addition to standard curricula. Wayne built the tallest standing structure in this demonstration!
The MSPE organization Educational Foundation provides supplemental funds for local chapters for various activities. The Jefferson City Chapter has elected to delegate a portion of their funds towards grants and scholarships to local students and schools. The Chapter also coordinates annual MATHCOUNTS and Model Bridge competitions for elementary and high school students.
Wayne joined GER in February 2022, as a Civil/Environmental Engineer and is actively pursuing his professional engineer license. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of North Dakota.

GREDELL Engineering Resources, Inc. (GER) attended the State Tech Career Expo on February 13, 2024. Tom Gredell and Cole Mengwasser met with many students taking courses in Civil Engineering Drafting and Design, to encourage their growth and professional career. State Tech courses prepare students to begin a fulfilling career.
GER is a civil engineering and environmental compliance consulting company based in Jefferson City, with offices in the Kansas City metropolitan area and Springfield, MO. GER is looking to fill a full-time position in our Jefferson City office for a CAD Technician with Civil 3D knowledge.
