The purpose of this day, in conjunction with Engineer’s Week, is to allow time for the engineering profession to meet with legislators to bring attention to the important and diverse roles that engineers play in our community. Missouri legislators vote on bills that affect our profession and our community, such as licensure, infrastructure funding and environmental permitting. Engineers met with legislators to promote the engineering industry and offer to serve as a resource on public policy issues that affect engineering.
